A summer time favorite, delicious Peach and Blackberry Crisp.
Peach blackberry crisp is one of those desserts that hits all the right notes for me. It’s like summer in a bowl, with the sweetness of ripe peaches perfectly balancing the tartness of blackberries. When I think of comfort food, this is what comes to mind—warm, bubbly fruit with a golden, buttery topping that’s just the right amount of crunchy.
I love how simple it is to throw together, especially when I’m in the mood for something homemade but don’t want to spend all day in the kitchen. The best part is that it’s really adaptable. You can use fresh fruit if it’s in season, but frozen works just as well, making it a year-round treat. The combination of peaches and blackberries is a match made in heaven, but you can easily swap in other fruits based on what you have on hand. I’ve tried it with apples and raspberries too, and it’s always delicious.
What I enjoy most is the way the crisp makes my kitchen smell—like warm butter and sugar with a hint of cinnamon. It’s the kind of scent that wraps around you like a hug, making your home feel extra cozy. And when it comes out of the oven, all bubbly and golden, it’s hard to resist digging in right away. But trust me, it’s worth waiting just a few minutes to let it cool slightly so you can fully enjoy that perfect bite of sweet, tart, and crunchy goodness. Top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and you’ve got a dessert that’s pure comfort in every spoonful.

2 Tbs lemon juice
Crisp topping:
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
- In a large bowl, gentle toss peaches, blackberries, sugar and lemon juice.
- Slide peaches and berries into a 8×11 baking dish.
(you can also make this in a 9×13 baking dish, serves more people and is a bit more crisp per bite) - In a separate bowl, mix together oats, flour, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon.
- Add cold butter (you can let it warm a bit to make it easier to squish together but not to room temperature), using your hands, fork or pastry cutter, squeeze the butter and the dry ingredients together to create the crumble.
- Layer the crumble on top of the peaches and blackberries in the baking dish.
- Bake for 50-60 mins.
- Let cool about 30 mins or so. (I never make it that long, just always smells so good).
Notes
Enjoy!
This is an excellent recipe! I made it with fresh Palisade, peaches and blackberries. It was perfectly sweetened, not too sugary. It was the perfect dessert for late summer get together!
