Grilled salmon with lemon and dill is the perfect summer dish to enjoy on a summer evening.
There’s something truly special about grilled salmon. The way it captures the smoky essence of the grill while retaining its rich, buttery texture is nothing short of culinary magic. One of my absolute favorite ways to prepare this delightful fish is with a zesty lemon and dill combo. It’s a match made in heaven, trust me.
Picture this: a warm summer evening, the sun just beginning to set, and the grill fired up. As I lay the salmon fillets on the grate, the sizzling sound they make is pure music to my ears. Before grilling, I always make sure to give the salmon a good rub down with olive oil, ensuring it doesn’t stick and gets those perfect grill marks.
Then comes the lemon and dill. There’s something about this duo that just sings. I like to thinly slice a lemon and tuck a few slices under the salmon and on top, along with a generous sprinkle of fresh dill. The heat from the grill causes the lemon to release its juices, infusing the fish with a tangy brightness. Meanwhile, the dill adds a layer of fragrant freshness that complements the richness of the salmon perfectly.
The key is not to overcook the fish. Salmon should be just opaque in the center, flaking easily with a fork. Depending on the thickness of your fillets, this usually takes about 6-8 minutes per side on a medium-hot grill. I always keep a close eye on it to avoid any dryness.
Once the grilled lemon dill salmon is done, I love to serve it up with a simple side salad, some grilled veggies, or a lemon pasta. The vibrant, citrusy flavor of the lemon and the aromatic dill really elevate the dish. It’s light, healthy, and bursting with flavor—a quintessential summer meal that never fails to impress. So next time you’re looking for a fresh and easy dinner idea, give this grilled lemon and dill salmon a go. You won’t regret it!
